Projects

Exowing Aviation
Design, build and test a selflaunchable, ultralight, electric glider for the 120kg class with serialproduction in mind.
In the Exowing project, an ultralight glider with a modular electric propulsion system is being brought to market and a company start-up is being prepared. Without an engine, this glider is light enough to launch from a mountain, while walking (on foot). The small pack size is made possible by a plug-in wing and a detachable propulsion system. In addition, due to an extremely short take-off and landing distance and a very slow landing speed, any infrastructure available in aviation, as well as those that will be created in the future, can be used. Exowing’s vision is to make flying as easy as possible.

Racehovercraft
The hovercraft is made in a Formula S design, This means that the vehicle belongs to a class where there is only one engine. Usually hovercrafts have one motor that generates the load-bearing air cushion underneath the craft and another one that provides the acceleration by thrust.
The special feature of the design of the hovercraft project at Aachen University of Applied Sciences is the sophisticated system for generating lift and propulsion by means of a motor. With this solution an optimal design is aimed at with which some disturbing influences are eliminated in the driving operation.
The primary goal is the development and completion of a competition-ready hovercraft. Beyond that the further intention is the successful participation in the „European Hovercraft Championship“.
